A day for a wonderful experience with a guided RIB tour & Bike on the Veitastrond Lake and e-bike back to Hafslo
The driver takes you to the starting place at Soget where you will embark the RIB and get a stunning, guided tour with stories from all the small farms scattered along the shores of the lake. Once you arrive at Veitastrond, the bikes are waiting for you. 10 km further into the valley you can have lunch at Tungestoelen café with a beautiful view to the glacier before you set off on your way home. From where the boat docks and back to Hafslo, there is 30 km of flat and fine terrain.
Veitastrond village is located close to the Jostedal glacier and has a very special lifestyle as they can be secluded from the rest of the world by snow avalanches for weeks during the winter. The people here are farmers at mostly goat- and sheep farms. The steep mountains around the village, and the water from the glacier, makes it a fertile area. During the bike-drive you will have a beautiful view over the mountains and Veitastrond lake with its emerald-green glacier water, mirroring the snowcapped peaks embracing it. There are several beautiful photo stop-locations en route.
Our RIB takes 6 passangers. From the parking is it about 10 minutes to walk to the quay. It may be a good idea to wear good clothes and shoes, even if we have protective suits on the outside. It quickly gets a little cold out on the water if the sun isn’t
